We had a great experience staying at the Blue Lyrebird Living hostel in the Blue Mountains. the staff were extremely friendly and provided us with lots of helpful tips and maps for hiking in the area. the location of the hostel was also convenient, being just a short walk from the train station, supermarkets, and the main road of town. One of the highlights was the free laundry service, which was a bonus for us. the kitchen was spacious and well-equipped, with everything we needed. it was a great value for the price with comfortable beds and spacious lockers. We highly recommend staying here. Cons: Nothing not to love! 😊.

The friendly personnel and the price. The room was spacious. Decent amenities.
There was a big fuss, screaming and yelling in the middle of the night. Couldn't sleep at all!

The hostel has an amazing location- just a 5-minute walk from the railway station, and close to many shops and restaurants in the centre of Katoomba. The kitchen is big and well-equipped, so it's quite useful for cooking your own meals. The living area is large and comfortable, with beanbags in front of a cozy fireplace. The bathrooms were clean and not too busy.
The private room was really small and basic- only contained a bed and a small coffee table. Having said that, it was very cheap.

It has a very open and friendly atmosphere. Staff is helpful. Hot water shower is working. You have an artificial open fire in the lounge area. Good value for money if regarding the level of hostel prices in Australia.

Easy to move in via the reception booking service, swipe cards are good, welcoming atmosphere. Room nice and clean. Location great.
Parking can be an issue for loads to carry but one expects this in this location. Some parents in the early morning were letting their young children - say 5-8 yr olds run riot downstairs and the shrieking could be heard up on first level...maybe a staff member on reception needs to check it or tone it down - Ive got kids but would look after them better....

I had a wonderful experience staying at this hostel. the location was perfect, with easy access to Katoomba's walking tracks and a short distance to Echo Point and the famous Three Sisters. the hostel was clean and welcoming, with a beautifully decorated lounge area that had plenty of character. the staff were friendly and helpful, providing great ideas for trips and things to do. I also appreciated the free washing area, which saved me from the crazy laundry fees I've encountered elsewhere.
The atmosphere in the common areas could be improved. the closing times of the kitchen and common areas were a bit restrictive, resulting in a lack of ambiance.

The kitchen was well equiped There's nice attendance
The kitchen was dirty and nasty... In the room we couldn't close the window because it was broken, so we had to sleep with the window open, and it's so cold! Also the bathrooms are dirty... When we arrived one washbasin was clogged, and nowbody clean it. When we left it was still stuck.
